Simply become who you are

If you want children to improve, let them overhear the nice things you say
about them to others.  — Haim Ginott

This is my third year as school counselor for Mountain View. Prior to being an elementary school counselor I was a high school counselor at Rockbridge County for three years; and was at Northridge High in Greeley, Colorado four years.

It takes a Master's degree to become a school counselor.  My undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Psychology. My Master's is in Education with a concentration in Counseling and Development. School counselors in the state of Virginia are required to hold a Pupil Personnel Services license with an endorsement in School Counseling PreK-12 that must be renewed every 5 years.

My office hours are:
Mondays and Tuesdays with an occasional Wednesday thrown in.
School Guidance days (when I am teaching) will be every other Monday.  I am here from 7:45 - 3:15 each of those days.

Throughout the year during school guidance I teach each grade level subjects related to academic/career/social domains. I also work with students individually and in small groups.
